‘Design architecture for a supermarket’
Design architecture for an industrial design is becoming increasingly popular, with new developments appearing in cities across the globe, but the field is still very young and many design practitioners are still learning the fundamentals.
A new book, Design Architecture for a Walmart, is a collection of books and tutorials written by professionals, such as architects, architects of mixed-use projects, and architectural students.
“There is still a huge demand for this kind of architecture for large and medium-sized retail environments, and we need to have a wider understanding of what design is,” said Professor John W. Brown, associate professor of architecture at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
“I think it’s important for architects to learn about the fundamentals, because we need design to help us with design decisions.”
